NEW OIL DRILL

OPERATIONS IN TARANAKI MAY RESUME IN NOVEMBER The first consignment of new rotary drilling equipment for the Taranaki oil fields will arrive in Auckland on the steamer Golden Cross, according to Mr. A. IT. P. Moline, manager of Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Fields, who returned from Australia this morning after conferring with his board of directors. Some time ago Mr. Moline visited the United States to obtain a new type of drill which was required at the fields. “I am satisfied that it will do the job, and that we shall find oil,” he said. Mr. S. P. Hart, an expert who will operate the new drill, is to arrive in New Zealand shortly, and it is hoped to resume drilling in November.
