WAIHIS IN DEMAND NEW ZEALAND Insurance continue to attract many investors. These shares sold on Saturday at -48 s ljd, which is a new record since the dividend. ' The market remains very firm. Waihi scrip is firm with buyers 12s 3d, sellers 12s fid.

Banka continue to sell freely. Australasia are again changing hands after | a quiet spell. New South Wales are exceptionally firm cum dividend. New 1 Zealand are also improving. Union of ; Australia remain steady. • • • The coal section remains quiet, although a number ctf inquiries is being registered. Hikurangi has many keen buyers. Renown continue to sell at market rates. Taupiri, both issues, are firm. Westport-Stockton, both issues, are attracting attention. Shipping continues to command considerable attention. Devonport sold today at 21s 3d. lluddart-Parker, pref.. are asked for at 21s 6d. Northern Steam, both issues, are steady, while T’nion Steam have continual buyers at 20s 9d. • * * All Government bonds and stock are exceptionally firm and keen bidding is being registered.
