ARAPUNI EROSION

WAITEMATA CONSUMERS UNAFFECTED RAISING OF £IOO,OOO LOAN “The Arapuni scare won't make much difference to our consumers,” said Mr. J. W. Hayden at this morning’s meeting of the Waitemata Elec-tric-Power Board. The statement was in reply to a question from Mr. S. E. Kennings, who asked if any further word had been received from Arapuni in addition to what had already appeared in the Press. “It’s a long way off the spillway yet,” said Mr. J. Trevithick. In connection with the recent poll of ratepayers for the purpose of raising a £IOO,OOO loan for the extension of the board’s operations, it wa3 decided to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for authority to raise the money in two sums of £70,000 and £30,000.
