“FLORADORA”
AMATEUR OPERATIC SOCIETY It is not until a theatregoer with no experience of theatrical production actually witnesses a rehearsal of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society that he gets anything like an adequate idea of the time, thought, energy, and enthusiasm expended in all departments to produce the successful finished article. The onlooker is perhaps most struck by the brightness of “Floradora” music. Its snappiness is typical of the comedy right through, and the exceedingly beautiful harmony of the chorus numbers and other concerted numbers, of which there are several, have been taken full advantage of by the chorus of almost 60 voices under Mr. Colin Muston, L.R.A.M. There is no doubt that they hold their own with everything of a like nature staged in Auckland. The music is only one draw, however, the whole combination being most attractive. The season is booked to commence at His Majesty’s Theatre next Friday.
