Trial of Dunedin Man Accused of Murder
BRAUMAN IN COURT WEAK FROM INJURIES Press Association DUNEDIN, Today. Charged with the murder of Annabella Dorothy Deans Brauman, on August 7, William Henry Brauman, who was discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon, appeared in the Police Court this morning. The public gallery was packed, several women being among the curious crowd. gRAUMAN stepped shakily into the dock. He appeared to be 3till weak from his injuries and grasped the rails to support himself as he walked into the dock. Over his wounded eye he wore a bandage and shade. Brauman was not represented by counsel, no solicitor having been engaged yet to watch his interests. Chief-Detective Cameron asked for a remand for one week. He said that on Wednesday next he would probably be able to arrange for the hearing of the charge. The magistrate, Mr. J. K. Bartholomew, S.M.. granted the remand.
