KAWAKAWA PRESENTATIONS
Prior to his departure for Te Kuiti Mr. 11. J. McCarthy, stationmaster at Kawukawu. who lias been transferred on promotion, was the guest at a farewell social. Mr. McCarthy was presented with an eight-dav clock and a tobacco pouch. Mr. s‘ \\\ Smith expressed the regret of the community at the departure of Mr. McCarthy and congratulated him on his promotion. Mr. McCarthy suitably replied. After a residence of several years in and around Kawakaw«i, Mr. and Mrs. \\\ Simpson and family, who are going to Omana, Dargaville, were the recipients of a handsome tea set and a. case of silver teaspoons. Mr. T. K. Pettit made the presentation, and said that their loss would be felt in the district. He wished them n. prosperous career in their new home. Mr. Simpson suitably responded. The employees of Wallace. Supplies, Ltd., assembled on Saturday night, when Mr. S. W. Smith, manager, on their behalf. presented Mr. George Marshall with a dinner set, on the occasion of his approaching marriage, and wished him every happiness. Mr. fclaxshaU briefly returned thanks.
