BIG GERMAN DIRECTOR For some years Hollywood and the film industry in general have been wondering what would happen if the great German director, Ernst Lubitsch. made a picture with John Barrymore in the starring role, and the answer is “Eternal Rove,” a United Artistpicture. with Camilla Horn. Hobart Bos worth. Victor Varconi. Mona Rico and hundreds of others. The story has been taken from Ja< ob C. Herr’s celebrated novel, ”Der Koenig der Bernina,” and it is stated that Rubitsch is the only director who would undertake its translation to the screen. Barrymore will be seen as an adventurer. Alpine mountaineer and dare-devil, whose love affairs defy screen story traditions. He and his sweetheart marry—but not each other —and what happen is stated to make an unusual screen story.
