PLEASING PROGRAMME
ROYAL AUCKLAND CHOIR CONCERT It variety is the principal virtift of H programme, that to be presented by the Royal Auckland Choir at the Town Hall this evening should prove exceedingly popular. Following Rheinberger's rousing “Hunter’s Song,” the choir will sing the following part songs: “Smuggler’s Song" (Roberton), “An! Island Shieling Song” (Granville Ban- : tock), an Irish folk song, "Christ And the Gilly” (Dunn), and “luvictus.” The j part song "An Evening's Pastorale” | (Shaw) will also be given by the! Mount Albert Grammar School Choir. ! In memory of Messrs. C. F. Perfect and R. H. Gough, members of the j choir, whose deaths occurred recently, the choir will also sing its memorial song, "The Long Day Closes.” Additional variety will also be lent by the appearance of Madame Winnie Fraser, the well-known South Island soprano, who will sing ‘ O Love! From Thy Pow’r,” from "Samson and Delilah”; “Rain” (Curran), "I Wept Beloved, As I Dreamed” (Hue), and Goatley’s “Villanelle” and "Moonlight,” by K. Moss. Violin solos, “The Admiral’s Galliard” (Moffatt), and "Spanish Dance” (Granados-Kreisler) will be played by Miss Ina Bosworth, and ’cello solos. “The Swan” (Saint-; Saens), "Orientale” (Cesar Cui), and “Rustic Dance,” by Squire, by Miss Molly Wright. The Auckland Trio, Miss Ina Bosworth (violin), Miss Molly Wright (’cello), and Mr. Cyril Towsey (piano), will also contribute an item, "Trio in F Major, Op. 42,” by Niels Gade. Good booking is reported, and a successful concert from every point of ! view should result. The concert will be under the musi- j tal direction of Dr. W. E. Thomas. !
