MT. WELLINGTON ROAD BOARD
The Alount Wellington Road Board received a protest on Tuesday evening* from the secretary of the Mount Wellington Domain Board relative to the closing of Ireland Road, as it is one of the main entrances to the domain Tiie clerk was authorised to say that the question was out of the jurisdiction of the board, as the road was temporarily closed under instructions from the Railway Department. Four tenders were received for the bitumen construction of the shoulders on the Great South Road. * and the * emstatement of the damaged concrete slabs. The tender of H. Bray and Co, was accepted. In consequence of complaints regal ding th i cveraowding of buses, n was decided to ask the Passenger Transport Company to supply a raoiadequate service to meet the iecds of the district, ana to draw the attention of the company to the dangerous practice of overcrowding the front portion of the bus.
