LEAGUE RUGBY
EXECUTIVE MEETING TRANSFER REFUSED The Xew Zealand Council advised the Auckland Rugby League at its meeting last evening that as on previous occasions, the transfer of T. Kanlon to an English Club could not be approved. The player has already sailed for Home. Mr. C. Adamson was appointed manager of the junior representative side to visit Huntly on August 31. A request from the South Auckland League for a match between South Auckland and North Auckland at Carlaw Park was deferred for a fortnight. It was stated by one delegate that with the Roope Rooster and Champion of Champions games yet to be played, it would be inconvenient to play the match at Auckland. It was also suggested that more good would be done for the code if tfouth Auckland visited the North. The Schoolboys’ Committee applied for a grant of £ls to send a representative team North during the school holidays, to play at Whangarei. On the motion of the chairman the application was deferred for a week for investigation by the Advisory ComMATCHES FOR SATURDAY The following matches were arranged for Saturday:—■ Representative Fixture.— Canterbury v.
