SMALL FARMERS AGREEABLE Press Association STRATFORD, Wednesday. At a meeting of the Stratford branch of the Farmers’ Union, the following resolution was carried: —"That this meeting, representative of small farmers, supports the Government's proposed super land tax as atemporary measure.” “MIGRATION FROM LAND” TAXATION CONSEQUENCES Press Association ASHBURTON, Today. The Ashburton Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution protesting against the land taxation proposals and saying that the proposals, if carried, must cause migration from the land with the consequent impoverishment of farm properties and lessened national production. Unemployment also would be increased.
