PRINCIPAL RETIRES
PRESENTATION TO MR. COUSINS .Tributes to the popularity and ability of Mr. H. G. Cousins, retiring principal of the Auckland Training College, were paid yesterday when the staff of the Auckland University College honoured him at a farewell meeting. Professor M. Walker presented Mr. Cousins with a gold-mounted fountain pen, and Sir George Fowlds, president of the University Council, was among the speakers. After expressing regret at the loss of Mr. Cousins. Sir George welcomed Mr. Duncan M. Rae, the new principal. Later, at a meeting of the University Council, Sir George drew the attention of raembe's to a farewell function to Mr. Cousins arranged by the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute, for Wednesday afternoon.
