FIRE ON A FARM

VALUABLE CALVES BURNT MILKING SHED DESTROYED (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Today. Fire destroyed a. large milking-shed and plant, a quantity of hay, ten pedigree Jersey calves, a gig, harness and implements owned by. Mr. T. B. Graham, of Buckland. The calves were valuable ones, being selected from a picked herd. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. It is suggested it was due to spontaneous combustion.

The owner’s loss is estimated to exceed £3OO, a portion of which is covered by insurance in the South British Office.
