ELDERLY WOMAN’S PETITION GRANTED DEAD HUSBAND’S ESTATE Press Association PALMERSTON N., Today. In the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Smith made an order increasing to £2 a week the allowance made to Mary Brown, aged 79, from the estate of her husband, the late James Brown, a farmer, of the Bush District. Petitioner said she had helped to stump and clean the farm, and had fought bush fires. She had been separated from testator before his death. The judge held that the present allowance was inadequate.
