PLAZA
“THE WOLF OF WALL STREET” The rough and tumble stoker of “The Docks of New York." is now known as “The Wolf of Wall Street," polished stock manipulator of the New York Stock Exchange—maker and breaker of the market! George Bancroft is the Wall Street financier in his latest Paramount alltaiking production, which has attracted record crowds to the Plaza Theatre since its opening there. Bancroft has one of the best roles of liis entire career in this new picture. He, by natural force and dynamic power, gives his latest characterisation a treatment that holds one in complete suspense throughout the running of the film. Bancroft alone could essay such a role. Baclanova, former dramatic soprano with the Moscow Art Theatre, and now a featured screen player under contract to Paramount, sings a song in “The Wolf of Wall Street," in which she has a prominent supporting role. The great Russian actress sings, “Love, Take My Heart!", a number written especially for her and this picture. In addition to this fine all-talking production there are a number of most enjoyable short talkie features. There is a charmingly humorous one-act play, entitled “Miss Information." interpreted by Lois Wilson and Edward Everett Horton. two noted cinema stars. Other items are a Paramount talkie cartoon, entitled “Old Black Joe,” and excerpts from grand opera by two Italian opera stars, Gigli and De Luca. They sing “Del Tiempo al Limitai," from Bizet’s great opera, “The Fisher of Pfearls.” Finally there are jazz selections by Reb Spikes’s negro jazz band, and a number of songs by the Brox sisters.
