“GENERAL POST”
TO BE DONE BY “THE KING’S PLAYERS” The theme of the diverting play, ‘General Post,” which drew all London to the Haymarket Theatre, is the amazing social changes that were wrought by the war, the taking: down of the mighty from their seats, the exalting of those of low degree, and so forth, all done with the greatest charm and good humour. The King's Players will present this amusing cornedv for a season of three nights at the ‘ Town Hall Concert Chamber, beginning on Thursday, August 15. The box plan opens at Lewis Eady's tomorrow. The proceeds are to be devoted to the 8.P.C.A., King's College swimming baths and King’s School Chapel. LECTURE AT UNIVERSITY The next lecture in the series dealing with the life and times of Shakespeare will be delivered in the University Hall this evening. The lecturer "ill be Dr. Kenneth Mackenzie, and his subject “Elizabethan Medicine.” Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. ‘ BIG BEN” TO BE HEARD The sound of the chimes of Big Ben, ■England’s traditional clock tower of Earliament, is to be shipped across the ocean and a continent for inclusion in a motion picture. 4 The boom of the huge bells is to be Photographed” by London representatives of the Paramount studios and the sound film will be sent to Hollywood for Richard IMx's next all-talking picture. “Tho Wheel of Life.” The bells will be heard from the screen in the opening sequence of the Production, which takes place on the embankment of the Thames under the Baadow of Uie Parliamentary towers.
