“ \ BAYDOS” has it on the very best authority that the new system of handicapping introduced by the New Zealand Conference is not retrospective, and wiil only come into operation on performances registered after the commencement of the new season. Hardicappers, therefore, wiil still be allowed to use their discretionary powers with horses which raced successfully last season, and “chopped” big slices off their handicap time.
