SUN COMMERCIAL SERVICE
A SPECIAL section devoted to answers to readers on financial and commercial questions, is included in these columns each Saturday. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy in every instance, no *-e----sponsibility can be taken for the information given. All queries should be addressed to the Commercial Editor, THE SUN. “Interested” (Tauranga).—We do not recommend the proposition, and think you would be very xinwise to take any shares. Thei*e is little chance of the shareholders benefiting. J. King (Otahuhu). —You have to remember that there is a risk attached to practically all investments, especially when you go over six per cent. In this case you can review the company’s progress over the past year; by doing so you will see that average net profits have exceeded dividend requirements by over 30 per cent. We think the shares are sound buying on the present market. “Investor” (Te Awamutu): A company such as that has to meet a comparatively high expense rate, especially when competing with such wellestablished concerns as the A.M.P. In that competition the margin of profit for shareholders must suiter. We certainly think you could find better use for your money. Tn view of your inquiries we think it would be greatly to your advantage to have a talk on investments with a member of the Exchange next time you come up to Auckland. We would be pleased to arrange an interview for you.
