CANADIAN TORY ATTACK ON TRADE TREATY CLEAVAGE IN THE PARTY (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9 a.m. VANCOUVER, Today. The resentment against Mr. R. B. Bennett’s attacks on the Australian Treaty is growing stronger daily toward a complete cleavage among Conservatives. It is reported that a large delegation interviewed the Tory leader, who is said to have urged an ultimatum to the Provincial Premier, Mr. S. F. Tolmie. Challenges to debate the merits of the Australian and Sockeye salmou treaties are flying thick and fast. Figures published on Friday show that Canada’s exports for the year ended on June 30 had increased by £29,400,000. Compared with the previous year imports had increased £33,200,000. Exports to Australia, £4,000,000, an increase of £1,200,000. Exports to New Zealand totalled £3,600,000, an increase of over £1,200,000.
