I accompanied Mr. Wraight as official observer in a Standard model Plymouth Four-door Sedan, leaving Wellington on July Ist ■ staying overnight in New Plymouth and arriving in A.uckland on July 2nd. I personally checked over the car and the petrol and oil used, and hereby certify that the consumption worked out as follows : 30.65 MILES PER GALLON OF PETROL OIL 3924 MILES PER GALLON. The road between Mokau and Hamilton 105’: was exceptionally muddy and was extremely rough and full of potholes, otherwise the mileage would have been better still.
