“Always Available” is the slogan of the St. John Ambulance services. Last year the ambulances removed 1,279 patients, travelled 10,084 miles and rendered first aid to 3,130 workers on the wharves. Friends of the poor and the suffering are asked to help by sending donations to the honorary secretary at the ambulance station. l
