H.M.S. DIOMEDE DUE
WARSHIP RETURNS FROM MANOEUVRES DUNEDIN ARRIVING LATER Due at Auckland at 6.40 o’clock tomorrow morning from Hobart, H.M.S. Diomede will be the first vessel of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy to return to port from the Australian manoeuvres. She will berth at Sheerlegs Wharf. The warship has been absent for two months, during which time she went through battle manoeuvres in Australian waters in company with the Australian Squadron and H.M.S. Dunedin. The Dunedin went from Hobart to Wellington and is due at Auckland on August 22. The Diomede is to leave on August 7 for a month’s cruise to Southern ports. She will return to Auckland on September !) and is to be in dock for refitting from September 17 to September 24. On October 1 she is to sail for England. The Dunedin is ft) leave Auckland for Southern rt fs on September 5 and will return from the cruise on September 20. Ten days afterward she is to be dispatched on a cruise that is to be arranged by the new commodore.
