UNRULY PRISONER
THREE MONTHS FOR OLD OFFENDER HiS 115TH CONVICTION Struggling violently in a taxi as he wis being taken to the police station on Saturday, Edward Knox succeeded in putting a foot through the window and damaging the upholstery. For the 115tli time he stepped into the Police Court dock this morning and pleaded guilty on charges of being disorderly while drunk in Queen Street and committing wilful mischief by damaging a taxi to the extent of £2. On a third charge cf using obscene language, Knox did not plead, remarking that lie could not remember it. The constable who arrested Knox said that lie had warned the man once to go home. Witness had again seen him when accused had used the language. He had arrested him about 5.45 and he had struggled all the way to the station. It was quite on purpose that he had put his foot through the window and damaged the upholstery. Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M.: I know him well. This is his 115th conviction. Knox was convicted and discharged on the first offence. For. the mischief count he was ordered to pay expenses amounting to £2 12s b*d and on the third count he was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. •We ll put him away for a while,” observed the magistrate. VICTORIA STREET SCUFFLE Robert Robinson. aged 40, was charged at the Police Court this mornin- with being disorderly while drunk in Victoria Street on Saturday. He did not appear and was fined the amount of his bail. Constable Shannon, who made the arrest at 5.10. said that Robinson had punched another man in the street.
