ONE HOUSE, ONE LICENCE
RADIO REGULATIONS That a radio licence can only be used for the service of one dwelling was shown at the Police Court on Friday, when a listener-in was fined £2 for failing to have his radio set licensed. The radio inspector, Mr. G. Scull, said that defendant’s set was linked with that of his brother next door. The wires ran under the dwelling and footpath through a length of drain-pipe. This enabled one crystal set to serve two listeners-in. The Act: made it illegal for a licence to serve more than one dwelling, otherwise a powerful set could be made to serve a whole street.
