LABOURER INJURED

BY FALL OF EARTH

While working on the breastwork the edge of the new reclamation in Mechanics’ Bay Mr. F. Torbett, a labourer aged 49, was injured by a tall of earth, which pinned him face town to the ground. The accident occurred shortly’ after mid-day and Mr. Torbett. who is emmoyed by the Auckland Harbour Board, was taken to the Auckland Hospital* by* the St. John Ambulance. He was reported to be suffering from mjuries to his back, groin and leg, anc ms condition is fairly serious. He is 5 married man, living at 47 Cook Street,
