MRS. E. JONES

Mrs. Ellen Jones, widow of the late Mr. Henry Jones, an old resident of Auckland, has died at the age of 78. Born in Auckland in 1851, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of pioneers. She was keenly Interested in church affairs. Mrs. Jones is survived by one son, Mr. A. Jones, and two daughters, Mrs. V. H. Dearsley and Miss M. Jones. MRS. A. NEWDICK Mrs. Amelia Newdick, who died at her home in Islington Street, Ponsonby, yesterday morning, was born at Howick in 1849, and had lived in and around Auckland all her life, tier busband was well-known on the goldfields, where he pegged the famous Long Drive mine and also the All Nations mine. Mr. and Mrs. Newdick had lived in Auckland for 30 years and celebrated their golden wedding last October. Four generations were represented at the celebrations, three sons, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. MR. W. R. J. MOODY The death of Mr. William Redley John Moody occurred yesterday at his residence, Norfolk Street, Whangarei, at the age of 56 years. He was a son of the late Mr. T. P. Moody, a mining engineer, and was born at Waratah, New South Wales. At the age of four years, accompanied by his father, he came to New Zealand, settling at the Bay of Islands. He was educated at the old St. John's College, Auckland. Mr. Moody was a member of the Whangarei Masonic Lodge 1647 EC. He is survived by his wife, four sons, and one daughter. The sons are Messrs. Claude, Roy, and Trevor Moody, Auckland, and Kenneth Moody, Matakohe. The daughter is Mrs. Birdling, Ruatangata. MR. W. R. CRUMP The death occurred at Paerata on Wednesday of Mr. William Robert Crump, at the age of 48 years. He was born in Queensland, and came to the Dominion about 26 years ago. Mr. Crump farmed in the Bombay, Tuakau. Waiuku, Pukekohe, and Paparirau districts. In addition to conducting a blacks mi thing business at Bombay. He saw active service In South Africa during the Boer War. He is survived by his wife, three daughters—Mrs. R. Wooten, Paerata; Misses A. and N. Crump, Paparimu; and two sons— Messrs. V. . and IX Crump. Paparimu.
