SHAPES
A GEOMETRICAL STORY One was a shape, Two was a shape, Three was a shape. Four was a shape, and their names were Square, Round. Rectangle and Oval. One day the four shapes went out for a walk. The two short ones walked together. The two tall ones walked together. Miss Round walked with Mr. Square.
Miss Oval walked with Mr. Rectangle. They went down a long street. It had four corners. “Dike von. Mr Rectangle," said Miss Oval. They came to a little park. It had four corners. “Dike you. Mr. Square." said Miss Round.
There was a fountain in the park. It had no corners. “Dike vou. Miss Round.” said Mr. Square. There was a flower garden in the park. It had no corners. “Dike you. Miss Oval," said Mr. Rectangle. They came to a park bench. “Ret us sit down and rest." said Miss Round. “We might play a game." said Mr. Rectangle. “What shall it be?" asked Miss Oval. “Shapes is a good game." said Mr. Square. “You begin, Miss Round. “Plate,” said Miss Round. “Tablet,” said Mr. Rectangle. “Platter," said Miss Oval. “Handkerchief,” said Mr. Square. “Merry-go-round." said Miss Round. “Letter,” said Mr. Rectangle. And so they went on naming things of their own shape. First Miss Oval gave up. Then Mr. Square gave up. Then Miss Round gave up. Mr. Rectangle won the game.
