SUCCESSFUL PIPIROA FUNCTION FOR ’QUAKE FUNDS The sum of £26 10s was added to the Hauraki Plains County Council's earthquake relief subscription list on \V ednesday last as the result of a dance organised by Mrs. V. Bower and held in the Pipiroa Hall on Tuesday evening. The attendance was very satisfactory, and as numerous donations had been received the expenses were negligible, Messrs. Corbett and Winder, of Thames, and Mr. J. 11. Nicholson, of Kerepeehi, donated the total fares collected from passengers going to the dance on their buses, the Ngatea Orchestra gave its services free, and prizes for the progressive euchre tournament and for competitions were donated by Messrs. W. Scott and S W. Rolfe, Pipiroa, J. W. Danby and A. Court and Sons, Thames, and the Kerepeehi Bakery. Mr. J. W. Neate was M.C. Competitions weer won by Miss C Vowles and Miss A. Dent, and the progressive euchre tournament by Mesdames Burdett and Bower, and Messrs. E. Keane and F. Wallis.
