POINCARE RESIGNS
TO UNDERGO SERIOUS OPERATION BRIAND AS SUCCESSOR 7 (Australian and K.Z. Press Associationf Reed. 1.5 p.m. PARIS, Friday. It is authoritatively reported that M. Poincare has resigned from the Premiership in order to undergo a serious operation. It is believed that President Doumergue will invite M. Briand to form a Government. The Ministerial Council has m* structed M. Briand and Louis Bartho# to convey to M. Poincare the affectioi** ate sympathy of the council, and U* urge him to remain head of the Go* eminent ■while taking the rest.
