DARGAVILLE BOWLERS (From Our Own. Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Dargaville Bowling Club was held last night, Mr. F. C. Davey, president, being in the chair. The president’s report stated that the season from a bowling point of view was a most successful one. The club competitions were keenly contested, quite a number of wins being registered on a bare margin. The results were:—Championship singles. Air. R. Lowe; F. A. Jones’s trophy (junior handicap singles), Mr. W. B. Morris; pairs competition, Messrs. W. Hyland and R. Lowe (skip). Messrs. W. Hyland, F. A. Jones and J. N. Stark donated cups and trophies. During the season death has claimed two old friends and bowlers in the persons of the late Mr. Edwn Harding and the late Mr. S. Smith. vln the inter-club matches the club retained the Hayes Cup against allcomers, while the Hyland Shield was won and later retained by its representatives. Mention was aiso made of the departure of members. Messrs. A. B. Card, J. Davies and C. Irvine, while the work of the green superintendent, Mr. H. H. Tonkin, and greenkeeper, Mr. J. S. Simmons, was fav-

ourably commented upon. The valuable services rendered by the secre- i tary, Mr. L. Izod, were also placed on record. Officers for the ensuing year were elected a«3 follow —Patron, Mr. F. J. Dargaville; president, Mr. Owen Williams; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. A. Jones and D. Cooper; hon. secretary. Mr. L. Izod: hon. auditor. Mr. O. L. Bagrnall; green superintendent. Mr. T. ‘Jones : committee, Messrs. L. R. Capp, J. N. Stark. W. Hyland, W. E. Morris and A. E. Reynolds. A balance of income over expenditure of £3l 17s Id was shown for the year. NOMADS V.
