A GOOD TURN
VAGRANT BACK TO GAOL “It would be doing; him a good turn.” said Sub-Inspector McCarthy, suggest, ing that Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., sentence James Edgar Steere to a further term of imprisonment. Steere pleaded guilty at the Polica Court this morning to being an incorrigible rogue and vagabond, having been convicted of being a rogue and a vagabond and idle and disorderly ore March 16. According to the sub-inspector Steere was just out of gaol. He had a very long list and was in a filthy state, having been sleeping out. Mr. Hunt; He has been in and out all his life. A penalty of 12 months’ imprisonment was imposed, the magistrate remarking that there was nothing else lie could do with the man until tb« country found some other place for men of his type.
