SOCCER NOT ALLOWED—MUST STICK TO RUGBY
HPHE council of the New Zealand Football Association is somewhat upset on account of a letter from South Canterbury stating that a master at the main school had instructed the boys that they were not allowed to play Soccer, but must stick to the recognised game of Rugby. The correspondent said that the headmaster had been interviewed and he had decided that the master in question must “eat” his words. It was then expected that all would be right, but the master persisted in his attitude toward the Soccer game, with the consequence that that particular school was now unable to field a Soccer team. “What shall we do?” was the text of a somewhat plaintive appeal from Timaru. The council of tlie Hew Zealand Association debated the subject at some length this week and decided to write to the South Canterbury Education Board on the matter, and also to send a deputation to the Director of Education
