Nearly £IO,OOO has been received in response to the Mayor’s appeal for earthquake relief funds. Yesterday's contributions amounted to £99 15s 3d, details of which are as follow:

PAPATOETOE DONATIONS' The following additional donations have been received at the Papatoetoe Town Board’s office toward the earthquake relief fund: Amount previously aCKnowledged, £7S ISs 9d: St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Papatoetoe (on account), £SO; Mr. and Mrs. TV. J. Nicholson, £2 2s; F. J. Wills, £2; J. Daisley, £1 Is; "Waldo Smith, £1 Is; “Old Joe,” £1; New Zealand Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners (Otahuhu branch), £1: Sympathiser, 10s; N. 8., 1 0s; M.S., ss. Total, £I6S 7s 9d. Wanganui County Council decided yesterday to vote £ 100 toward the earthquake relief fund. The Southland County Council has voted £250 to the Invercargill Earthquake Relief Fund, which now amounts to £1,640. The Mayor has sent the first instalment of £1,230 to the Prime Minisetr. —P.A.
