Plant herbs, mint, thyme, sage, marjoram. Plant liliums. alstromeria, agapanthus, tigridia, lily-of-the-valley, crinum, iris. Plant evergreen shrubs. Note the habit of growth and plant accordingly, taller growing ones against the wall or fence and the low-growing ones to the front. Now is a good time for trenching the ground. J Plant fruit trees: Apples, pears, peaches, plums, quinces, persimmon, guava, orange, lemon; also grape vines. Now is the time for planting strawberries, loganberries, gooseberries, raspberries, etc. Give growing vegetables waterings once a week with diluted liquid manure. With roses, plant a good selection, including standards, brush roses and climbers.
