WILLIAM FOX SIGNS JOHN McCORMACK FOR NEW TALKIE IN IRELAND

JOHN McCORMACK, the Irish tenor, has been signed by William Fox to make a talking

picture in Ireland. It is understood the singer will receive £125,000 for the one p r o d u ction; and that a similar amount will be spent on the picture itself. Mr. McCor-

mack arrived in New York a month or so ago from Ireland, and he was met at the pier by representatives of almost every picture company. He was deluged with offers, but the Fox proposition evidently hit the mark.
