HELPING MOTHERS
PLUNKET SOCIETY COMES OF AGE SPECIAL BOOKLET ISSUED I Twenty-one years of magnificent service to Auckland will be referred to with justifiable pride at the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society which takes place on Tuesday evening. To mark in suitable and fitting fashion the coming of age of the organisation, the annual report has been issued in comparatively elaborate booklet form, and the publication is both an admirable tribute to the society and a valuable story and pictorial record of its activities. Profusely illustrated, its contents depict the steady and complete service provided for mothers in antenatal and post-natal clinics. Full reports of the headquarters work and that of all district branches are provided and there is a synopsis of conclusive evidence dealing with cases received and mothers assisted in the past year. Tributes are paid to the executive officers of the society, the hard-work-ing committees, and the nurses whose, efficiency has been responsible for the excellent progress made. The balance sheet shows a surplus of assets over liabilities of £l9O 18s Bd, and the record of receipts includes a sum of £1,328 9s 3d for general donations and proceeds from entex*tainments.
