CITY’S BRIDGE POLICY
STAND IN REGARD TO HARBOUR SPAN “MUST STATE IT SOON” ‘•This council will shortly be compelled to state its policy in regard to the Harbour Bridge proposal,” said Cr. G. W. Hutchison in moving at the meeting of the City Council last evening that the sum of £lO 10s be given to the Harbour Bridge Association. The Finance Committee had recommended a donation of £5 ss, but Cr. Hutchison remarked that, seeing the council had representatives on the association, more interest should be shown in its works. There was a growing feeling in the city, said the councillor, that the bridge was very near. The council increased its donation.
