MUSIC EXAMINATIONS
ASSOCIATED BOARD ENTRIES DR. LEE’S TOUR Entries totalling 322 have been received for the annual practical examinations of the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music, London, to be held in Auckland from July 22 to August 8. They cover the whole range of musical examinations from primary to licentiate, the latter being for performers’ and teachers* certificate. The examiner is Dr. Ernest Markham Lee, M.A., F.R.C.0.. who will arrive on Monday. Since leaving Emmanuel College. Cambridge, Dr. Leo. has had a distinguished musical record. He is a pianist and composer of note and a distinguished organ scholar. He has been a lecturer and examiner to various English universities and institutions, and has bad over 200 compositions published. He has also published a number of works on music. When Dr. Lee completes his examination torn* he will give a course of vacation lectures to teachers, commencing at Dunedin about December 36. The Auckland lectures should commence about January 27.
