LICENCE OPPOSED

KAMO SPRINGS HOTEL ACTION OF N.Z. ALLIANCE Issue of a licence for the Kamo Springs Hotel is to be opposed by the Auckland area of the New Zealand Alliance. The body is applying for a writ in the Supreme Court. When the Marsden Licensing Committee granted the licence on June 11, the chairman advised the objectors, Avho included the police, the licensee of the Kamo Hotel and others, to contest the case in the Supreme Court as he doubted the existence of a licence at Kamo Springs. The alliance considered the matter on Monday evening when it Avas stated that the Licensing Act specifically provided that when a licence had lapsed, application for reinstatement must be made to the next annual meeting of the Licensing Committee. It Avas stated that the Kamo Springs’ licence lapsed 12 years ago.
