BETTING WITHOUT CASH

BANK CHITS ISSUED FOR TOTALISATOR USE NEW ENGLISH SCHEME British Official Wireless Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Friday. The advent of the totalisator on English racecourses will bring with it a new scheme, which will enable racegoers to attend meetings without carrying large sums of money. The big banks have agreed with the Racecourse Betting Control Board to issue to their customers books of chits of denominations varying from £1 to £IOO, which can be handed to the totalisator clerk instead of cash. The winnings on such chits will be automatically credited to the banking account of the owner.
