STEADINESS ON PARADE
GOVERNOR COMPLIMENTS TROOPS A letter has been received by MajorGeneral R. Young, general officer commanding the New Zealand military forces, from his Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, expressing appreciation of the bearing of the troops in the Auckland Domain at the parade on the King’s Birthday. The letter, which is signed by Captain E. P. O. Boyle, military secretary to his Excellency, reads as follows: “I am desired by his Excellency the Governor-General to express to you, and to ask you to convey to the officers and men under your command, his appreciation of the discipline and efficiency evinced at the parade in honour of his Majesty’s Birthday in the Domain. The appearance of all ranks appeared to his Excellency to reflect the greatest credit on all concerned. His Excellency desires me to add a special word of appreciation of the appearance of the cadets, whose steadiness and marching were most noticeable.”
