ARGUMENT OVER WOMAN An argument concerning a woman acquaintance was the reason put forward by George Whye and Leo Cochburn when charged in the Otahuhu Police Court yesterday with fighting in the main street of Otahuhu on May 10. In evidence, Whye admitted flicking Cochburn’s hat off after an argument concerning a woman, and later .admitted having struck two blows which finished the fight. The police stated that Whye had two previous convictions, and Cochburn had not been in any previous trouble. Whye was convicted and fined £l, with costs, and Cockburn, 5s and costs. Messrs. W. McNeely and G. W. Venables were the presiding justices.
