ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
COURT LENIENT TO OLD MAN A tottering old man, stone-deaf, and 73 years of age, appeared before Mr. F\ K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court yesterday on a charge of attempted suicide. “Is there anyone to look after him?” asked the magistrate. Sub-Inspector McCarthy assured the magistrate that the old man could go straight back to the hospital. “There is £4 19s expenses, but as he is an old-age pensioner, I hope your Worship can overlook that,” he sr*i. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Accused was escorted to the hospital by the police.
