BAD LANGUAGE COSTS £1 In a few expressive but illchosen words, James Boyce Lauder summed up his opinion, on Friday of a stranger who failed to respond to his cordial advances. Lauder, a labourer aged 62, was charged at the Police Court on Saturday with being found drunk in ITobson Street, and using obscene language. He pleaded guilty. In the opinion of Sub-Inspector McCarthy, Lauder was very much under the influence of liquor. He had approached a stranger in Hobson Street and used the language when the man had refused to engage in conversation with him. Lauder was fined 5s on the first charge and £1 for using the language. The total default of the fine was fixed at three .Hi vs' imprisunmcm.
