SOUTHERN MAIN TRUNK

START ON SURVEY WORK Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Surveying work on the South Island Main Trunk railway from Parnassus northwards will be started immediately. Mr. A. Stewart, one of the surveying experts of the Public Works Department, who has been working on the Gisborne-Wairoa line, arrived in Christchurch on Thursday to take charge of the party. He left yesterday for Kaikoura.
