DENTIST IN DOCK
CONSIDERABLE SUM SAID TO BE INVOLVED NAME NOT SUPPRESSED ‘‘We Have already traced sums amounting to £2OO. Goodness knows what it will be this time next week,” commented ChiefDetective Hammond when Vincent Walter Morley was charged at the Police Court this morning with theft.
The detailed charge against Morley, a dental surgeon, aged 39, was that he had received £6 15s on terms which required him to account for it to Frederick John Rayner and, failing to account for it, thereby committed theft. Mr. Inder appeared and agreed to a remand being taken until June 6. Bail was renewed in two sureties each of £250 and self in one surety of £250. Counsel asked that the name be suppressed in the meantime. Morley had just started in business on his own and any further publication than had already appeared would do him harm. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., refused to grant the request. He pointed out that publication might lead people to come forward with further information.
