NETHERTON DRAINAGE BOARD

Plating for drainage purposes on an acreage basis instead of on valuation is to be brought before the Internal Affairs Department by the Xetherton Drainage Board. The chairman reported that the Elstow Drainage Board had agreed to the transfer of certain areas to the Xetherton Board. The areas transferred would still continue to be rated for the Elstow Board’s loans. The clerk, in reporting on the financial position, showed that the board would finish its season’s programme with a satisfactory credit balance. It was decided again to urge the Public Works Department to hand the control of the Wailiou River floodgates to the board.
