METHODISTS’ JUBILEE

DARGAVILLE CELEBRATIONS (From Our Oicn Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, Sunday. Jubilee celebrations of the Dargaville Methodist Church were held today when Rev. Edward E. Brake, chairman of the district, preached to appreciative congregations at both morning and evening services. The Rev. E. \V. Hames, minister in charge of the local church, assisted. A largely attended communion service was held in the morning. The church building was erected in ISIS at Mangawhare, under the charge of a Mr. Osborne, who was a home missionary at that time. The services were largely attended by settlers from up and down the river in the early days. With the growth of Bargaville the Mangawhare site became unsuitable and recently the building was shifted io a convenient position in Awakino Hoad, about the centre of Darcraville. The building has been thoroughly renovated and has been free of debt for years.
