ZIRCON’S LEG

'YIRCON, a fancied candidate for the Great Northern double, has been an absentee for the past three days from Ellerslie. He has been given light road work, and although it is expected that he will take his place in Saturday’s G.N. Hurdles field, the stoppage in his preparation at this stage cannot but fail to prejudice, his prospects. The trouble lies in the near hind joint, which presented an ugly appearance on Saturday morning, but on Saturday night considerable improvement was shown.
