TAUMARUNUI HIGH SCHOOL RELIEF OF OVERCROWDING (From Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Friday. The great urgency of increasing accommodation at the Taumarunui Secondary School has* been the subject of a good deal of correspondence between the local authorities and the Auckland Education Board. On the ground that the delay in making any move to relieve the position was most unfair to teachers and scholars, the committee at its last meeting resolved to communicate with the board member for the South Ward, asking him to use his influence to have the matter attended to. . Since then the committees chairman Mr. A. T. Driffill. has been able to place the case directly before the Hon. H. At more, Minister of Education who has advised that Cabinet has 'approved ot a grant to-cover the cost of additions to the school. With Jho hazards of winter facing young people Who have to be taught in open shelter sheds, the importance of this decision can be l-eadil? imagined.
